IWS Honors Derek Jeter as Person of the Week

IWS Radio would like to congratulate Derek Jeter on his amazing 20 year career with the NY Yankees. Jeter is one of the all-time great clutch players in any sport. Even if you aren't a Yankees fan, and even if you hate the Yankees and Yankees, fans you have to tip your hat to Derek and what he has accomplished in his 20 seasonS. Derek Jeter is one of the few to actually lived up to the hype. Baseball will miss him.

Joan Rivers is our Person of the Week!

IWS Radio is proud to announce that the soon to be late, great Joan Rivers is our person of the week!

Joan has (mostly) enjoyed a looooooooooong and successful career in comedy. When she broke into the business and for most of her career stand up comedy was definitely a man's world. She didn't let that stop her though. She became one of the most successful comedians of all time!

Sure, she's a bit mean spirited and you might even say she's a hateful, bitter old lady. But, on many levels she has a right to be. She has been treated very badly many times by folks in the comedy and entertainment world.

And while some aren't really fans of hers because they consider Joan to be one of those "can dish it out, but can't take it" types, we do all have to agree that she's got balls. IWS totally respects that about her. As of the posting of this Joan is on life support and things don't look good. Hopefully someone can let her know that she's been named the IWS Person of the Week though. You never know, that might be just the push she needs to get better! Ebola Hemorrhagic Virus: IWS Person of the Week!

We're doing something a little different for Person of the Week this week. Since nobody has really done anything this week, we're going to name the Ebola Hemorrhagic Virus our "Person" of the Week.

As you probably know Dr. Kent Brantly and Nancy Writebol are the first Americans infected with the virus to be brought back to the US for treatment. "Patient Zero and Patient One" if this was a movie. They were brought back in this fancy plane.

And they got to use this sweet isolation tent.

They will be staying in VERY private rooms and won't have to worry about constant visitors.

George Clooney is Engaged AND Person of the Week!

The IWS Person of the Week for this week is Academy Award winning actor, director and producer George Clooney!

In addiction to that, Clooney is well known to be one of the most politically astute and connected people in America!

And, he's an activist putting himself on the line protesting wrongs all over the world!

Aaaaaaaaaand he's a HUGE Barack Obama supporter! So much so that he actually got into a huge shouting match with casino magnate Steve Wynn and WALKED OUT ON HIM!! OMG!

Most of all George is known for his playboy lifestyle that includes dating some of the hottest women in the world and owning mansions and exotic cars and all that awesome stuff that super damn rich people get to do. But, he has shocked the world by actually getting engaged! He is now engaged to London lawyer Amal Alamuddin!

Of course George wouldn't get engaged to just any lawyer. She's a graduate of Oxford and NYU Law and is an expert in international law and even represented WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange AND she is fluent in English, French and of course, Arabic.
